CBS Driver App

Privacy policy

Last updated 22 August 2026

This policy covers the CBS driver app on iOS and Android — the app a chauffeur or transfer driver uses to receive and complete jobs. It explains what the app collects, why, who can see it, and how to switch each part off.

Who we are

The app is operated by EZY Consulting SRL, a company registered in Romania (CUI 42122380, J12/153/2020), trading as Chauffeur Booking Software (“CBS”, “we”). EZY Consulting SRL is the data controller for the app. Its registered office is Str. Beiușului, Nr. 1A, Ap. 12, Cluj-Napoca, Județul Cluj, Romania, and it also operates from 1 Fore Street Avenue, London EC2Y 9DT, United Kingdom.

You almost certainly downloaded this app because a transport operator asked you to. That operator decides what work you are offered and holds its own records about you. We provide the software they run it on. For questions about your employment, your pay or the jobs you are given, ask them. For questions about the app itself, ask us.

What the app collects

Your account

Your name, email address, phone number and the operator you drive for. You give us these, or the operator does when they add you to their fleet. We also store a sign-in token on the device so you do not have to log in every time.

Location — including in the background

The app collects your device location, at high accuracy, roughly every ten seconds or every ten metres of movement. It does this while you are set to online in the app, including when the app is in the background or your screen is locked. When you go offline, location collection stops.

Background collection is what makes the product work: dispatch needs to know which cars are near a job, and a waiting passenger needs to see the car coming. Neither is possible if location only updates while you happen to be looking at your phone.

We do not track you when you are offline, and we do not use your location for advertising or sell it to anyone.

Camera and photos

Only when you use a feature that needs it — a profile photo, or a picture attached to a job or an incident. The app does not access your camera in the background and does not read your photo library unless you pick a photo.

Notifications

A push token for your device, so we can tell you about a new job offer, a change to a booking, or a message. It identifies the device, not you personally.

Job and app activity

The jobs you are offered, accept, decline and complete, with their times and addresses; messages you send through the app; and basic technical logs — app version, device model, operating system and error reports — which we use to fix crashes.

Some of this feeds a performance score your operator can see: trips completed, jobs declined, whether the app was live during a shift. It is used to decide who gets offered work, so it is worth knowing it exists.

Who can see it

  • The operator you drive for — your profile, your jobs, your location while you are online, and your performance score.
  • The passenger on your current job — your first name, vehicle details and live location, while that job is running. Not before, not after.
  • Another operator, where your operator has passed the job to them or taken it from them, limited to what that job requires.
  • Our suppliers, who host and run the service on our behalf — hosting, maps, push notifications, SMS and email delivery. They act on our instructions and may not use your data for anything else.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose it otherwise only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Location points are kept for as long as they are needed to support the booking they belong to and to settle any dispute or payment question about it, then deleted. Account and job records are kept while you use the app and for as long afterwards as tax and accounting law requires. Technical logs are short-lived.

Deleting your account and your data

You can close your account at any time, from inside the app: open Profile → Close my account and confirm. Your account is closed immediately, you are signed out, and you will not be able to sign in again. You can also write to [email protected] from the address on your account, which does not require you to have the app installed.

Closing the account starts the deletion of your personal data, which we complete within 30 days: your profile, your contact details, your documents and photographs, your device and notification records, and your location history.

What we keep, and why. We cannot delete the records of journeys you were actually paid for. Those are accounting records, and tax law requires us to retain them; the same applies to anything needed to resolve a dispute or a claim that is still open. What is kept is the minimum for that purpose — the job, the date and the amount — and it is not used to contact you or to offer you work again. It is deleted when the retention period ends.

If you close the account by mistake, contact us as soon as you can. Until we have carried out the deletion we may still be able to reopen it; once the data is deleted it cannot be recovered.

If the operator you drive for holds its own copy of your details, closing your CBS account does not delete theirs. We will tell you when that applies and pass your request on.

Turning it off

Location, camera and notification permissions are all controlled by your phone, in Settings, and you can withdraw any of them at any time.

Be aware of the trade-off: without background location the app cannot show dispatch where you are, so you are less likely to be offered nearby work, and the passenger cannot see you approaching. That is a consequence of the permission, not a penalty we apply.

Going offline in the app stops location collection without changing any permission.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it (see Deleting your account and your data above), or object to how we use it. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within one month.

Where the operator you drive for is the one deciding how your data is used, we may need to pass your request to them — we will tell you if so. If you are in the UK or EU and are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

The app is for professional drivers and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app where the change is significant.

Tell us about your fleet

We read every one of these and come back within one working day. The questions are the ones we would ask on the call anyway.
